Dr. Simbi Animashaun
My name is Dr. Simbi Animashaun. I am a published author, educator, black maternal mental health advocate, birth, postpartum, and bereavement doula, and mompreneur on a mission! I am passionate about bringing awareness to pregnancy and infant loss (PAIL) for mothers and birth givers across the globe, specifically in Dekalb County, GA. To further support mothers and birth givers who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, I founded the United By Loss Foundation, Inc. Please visit my website if you'd like to learn more about my non-profit organization, our mission, and the various resources we offer to PAIL survivors.
Experiencing the loss of a pregnancy or child can bring unimaginable pain and grief. Having suffered recurrent miscarriages for two years, I used my faith and determination to heal from my losses and to continue my journey to becoming a mother. I am now a proud mother of three beautiful children.
In June 2021, I published my first book, The Power of Healing: A Memoir of Loss & Victory, which details my struggles with pregnancy loss and my journey to motherhood. I hope my story inspires other women struggling with pregnancy and infant loss NEVER to give up and always lean on God for understanding. I am also on a mission to help other women experiencing fibroids, infertility, and painful periods achieve their health and wellness objectives more quickly.
Last year, I received HMHBGA's 2022 Inaugural Wonder Mom Award. Visit Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia's website to learn more about their mission and the inaugural award.
